Reading review

I live in a multi-culture  family. My father comes from LiaoNing, which is in the Northeast of China. My mother is also from the Northeast of China but different country.  But I was born and grown up in the southwest of China - Sichuan
Different Provence get different dialect.  So when I was at school, all my classmates and teachers speaks Local dialect. But when I was at home, I'll speak Mandarin. There are a lot of difference between Sichuan dialect and Mandarin, the tones and the words. So sometimes I'm a little bit confused when I speaks to my parents after I came back home. They may not understand what I said.

Further more, young people will use different words and ways to talk to each other, and I think this is very similar to the story in the book.. And my parent can barely understand, because they hardly ever surf the internet.

So these are the big differences between my parents and I.

People use Mandarin in formal situations. We always use some more formal word to people. For instance, we use more polite words to call elders.  We don't use dirty words and slangs in formal situations.

Chinese is spoken by the largest population in the world. And it is also becoming more and more popular. I'm very glad to be in America, with my Chinese Culture background,  to experience a new culture and a brand-new lifestyle!
